button up baby... (it's cold outside!)

Funny, it seems it's always in the unlikeliest places and moments that we find inspiration. I had been itching to make some new jewelry, but had been majorly lacking any design inspiration. And then, one afternoon a couple of months ago, I had decided to clean my room. It had been a while.. (house cleaning is not one of my favorite past-times). On the top of my dresser I came across a box of buttons I had recently purchased to replace some lost on one of Maxime's sweaters, and then it came to me. And I am in LOVE.

make a wish.

My girlfriend(Ariane Piché Morin) and I had been talking about going to take pictures somewhere, so in early October, we took the kids to this gorgeous park in Québec City called Domaine Maizerets. There was something just so magical and fairy-tale-esque about the place.. I will just let the pictures speak for me... Close your eyes.

Make a wish.

And GO.

my magic

I am leaving Québec tomorrow and heading to Brooklyn for work. I will be by myself for almost an entire week. I haven't been to new york since the beginning of May. I miss it, I do. Sometimes I reminisce of my former life there, the energy of the streets, the beautiful Brooklyn brownstones, the people, the magic of it all. I imagine what it might be like if we were to move back there, what it would be like to raise a family there. You see, at one point, that city really had my heart. I wasn't able to imagine myself living anywhere else. But then, I met Mathieu. And then, my children. And now, well, my heart lies with them and I can't imagine my life without them.

So, although I will be working on some very exciting things while away(which I will be sharing with you soon), this next week is going to be hard for me without my family. Because at this point in my life, they are all of the magic I could ever ask for.

pour l'amour d'amour

I have worked in the wedding industry for ten years now. (That feels crazy to say). I still get excited at the thought of styling a bride for her big day. It is truly magical, and I am always so grateful to have been a tiny part of her lifelong memory. My big brother is getting married in 20 days. AHHHHHH. I am beyond thrilled for him and his beautiful finacée. It is just about all my three year old daughter Maxime is talking about these days(she is going to be a flower girl in the wedding). AND, I have the incredible honor of doing the bride's hair and makeup! I would go into detail about the look, but this is disclosed information.. my brother can not be finding anything out before the big day..

So, without going into too many specifics, I sat down on this brisk autumn afternoon while my two babies slept, and I got crafty with some pearls, rhinestones, silk flowers, needle, thread, and some bobby pins. I CAN'T WAIT.

baby belly beauty

I recently had the honor of styling and photographing a beautiful friend of mine, Lana, who is 8 months pregnant, and the envy of all pregnant women.. I mean, she is just gorgeous, and this early fall morning lent the perfect backdrop for this shoot.

This was so special to me because I have previously been the subject of two maternity sessions shot by the very talented Tim Brown at TAB Photographic, and those images are so important to me. I recognize first hand the significance of these images, and although I have styled hair makeup and wardrobe for numerous shoots, this was the first time I was really behind the camera myself. I have to say though, nerves aside, it was such a beautiful, energizing experience. I am so grateful for my friend's faith in me and my eye, and for giving me the courage to take the images I had in my head and to put them into fruition.. I could not have asked for a better subject.
